Este volumen de homenaje reúne importantes contribuciones de sintácticos expertos de todo el mundo sobre el tiempo y la finitud, los adjetivos, el caso dativo y ergativo, la adquisición del caso y otros temas tanto dentro del dominio de la lingüística dravídica como en la comprensión teórica más amplia de los datos translingüísticos. La profesora R. Amritavalli, una reconocida lingüista, ha pasado más de tres décadas en los campos de la sintaxis y la adquisición sintáctica, haciendo contribuciones importantes y trascendentales en estas áreas, y este libro es un reconocimiento a su trabajo. Los colaboradores cubren estos temas en el contexto del inglés, el chino, el japonés, el coreano, el hindi-urdu, el bengalí, las lenguas dravídicas y las lenguas poco estudiadas como el huave.
