Los ensayos de este libro aclaran los aspectos técnicos, legales, éticos y sociales de la interacción entre las tecnologías de eSalud y las prácticas de vigilancia. El libro comienza presentando un marco teórico sobre eSalud y vigilancia, seguido de una introducción a las diversas ideas sobre eSalud y vigilancia exploradas en los capítulos siguientes. Las cuestiones abordadas en los capítulos incluyen la privacidad y la protección de datos, la aceptación social de la eSalud, la asistencia sanitaria rentable e innovadora, así como los aspectos de privacidad de los programas de bienestar de los empleados que utilizan la eSalud, el uso de datos de aplicaciones de salud móviles por parte de las compañías de seguros, la industria publicitaria y aplicación de la ley y la ética del uso de Big Data en la atención médica. Un capítulo final se basa en el contenido anterior para explorar la noción de que las personas están "bajo observación", reuniendo dos corrientes académicas interesadas en la observación hasta ahora no relacionadas: la eSalud y los estudios de vigilancia. En resumen, el libro representa un primer paso esencial hacia la fertilización cruzada y ofrece nuevos conocimientos sobre el significado legal, ético y social de estar "bajo observación". |
