Este libro emplea una variedad de metodologÃas económicas y filosóficas para descubrir las implicaciones filosóficas de la destrucción creativa, la regulación de la competencia y el papel que desempeñan las empresas o los agentes del mercado. En lugar de discutir estas relaciones de una manera puramente abstracta, Schneider utiliza Uber para iluminar cuestiones importantes del pensamiento económico y filosófico. Schneider cuenta la siguiente historia: Si bien la destrucción creativa y la innovación disruptiva cambian el panorama empresarial, la regulación –especialmente la regulación de los mercados sectoriales y la regulación de la competencia– retrasa este cambio o incluso lo detiene. Uber, como agente del mercado, no es sólo un objeto movido por estas dos fuerzas opuestas.
