Este volumen analiza la creciente aparición de inundaciones y tornados en el sur de Ãfrica en los últimos años. El libro analiza los protocolos existentes de gestión de inundaciones y tornados, los enfoques indÃgenas para mitigar el riesgo de desastres, las inundaciones urbanas y periurbanas, las inundaciones y tormentas de viento inducidas por tornados, y los desafÃos y vulnerabilidades asociados con las inundaciones rurales y transfronterizas. El libro ofrece estrategias de planificación y recuperación para minimizar los impactos de estos eventos a través de medios sostenibles. Dichos medios incluyen sistemas de drenaje sostenibles, gestión de desechos en puertos y playas, participación comunitaria en zonas propensas a inundaciones y mejores medidas de seguridad alimentaria en los hogares urbanos pobres. |
