Esta colección investiga las prácticas imperialistas modernas y su gestión del hambre a través de su distribución puntuada entre poblaciones marginales relacionadas asimétricamente. Basándose en material relevante de Egipto, Irlanda, India, Ucrania y otras regiones del mundo, La estética y la política del hambre global es un estudio rigurosamente comparativo compuesto por diez ensayos de académicos bien establecidos de universidades de todo el mundo. Desde la modernidad, hemos sido habitantes de un globo cada vez más conectado a través de discursos de acceso igualitario para todos los humanos a los recursos del planeta, pero el volumen enfatiza junto a esta realidad la flagrante politización de esos mismos recursos. A partir de este énfasis, los ensayos del volumen ponen de relieve la idea de que los discursos ideológicos y estéticos sobre el hambre podrían informar el pensamiento y las prácticas éticas sobre quién o qué constituye la figura del ser humano histórico moderno. |
