Este volumen aborda el tema poco analizado de los noticieros cinematográficos. Estos noticieros breves y multitemáticos, normalmente acompañados de intertítulos explicativos o voces en off, fueron una parte central de la experiencia cinematográfica en todo el mundo desde 1910 hasta finales de los años 1960, y en muchos casos incluso después. Como única fuente de noticias en imágenes en movimiento disponible antes de la llegada generalizada de la televisión, los noticieros son documentos sociales importantes que registran lo que se le dijo y mostró al público en general sobre los eventos y personalidades del día. A menudo ignorados por ser extravagantes o triviales, fueron ampliamente utilizados como vehículos de propaganda, ofreciendo información sobre las normas sociopolíticas reflejadas en el cine durante la primera mitad del siglo XX. El libro presenta una gama de investigaciones actuales que se están llevando a cabo en estudios de noticieros a nivel internacional y aboga por una reconsideración de la importancia de los noticieros en el panorama más amplio de la historia del cine. |
