Los respectivos artículos analizan la optimización matemática clásica, la estadística y las técnicas de simulación. Estos se complementan con métodos informáticos y con herramientas de procesamiento de datos, diseño e implementación de sistemas de información. El libro también examina los avances recientes en la tecnología de la información, que permiten procesar grandes volúmenes de datos y permitir análisis comerciales predictivos y prescriptivos en tiempo real para impulsar decisiones y acciones.
