Este libro se basa en las conferencias y contribuciones del Instituto de Estudios Avanzados de la OTAN sobre "Nanociencia y nanotecnología en la seguridad y protección contra amenazas QBRN", celebradas en Sozopol, Bulgaria, en septiembre de 2019. Ofrece una visión general amplia sobre este tema, ya que combina artículos que abordan la preparación y caracterización de diferentes materiales a nanoescala (metales, óxidos, vidrios, polímeros, basados en carbono, etc.) en forma de nanocables, nanopartículas, nanocompuestos, nanopuntos, películas delgadas, etc. y contribuciones sobre sus aplicaciones en diversos ámbitos de seguridad y campos relacionados con la seguridad. Además, presenta un enfoque interdisciplinario aprovechando los conocimientos en nanociencia y nanotecnología de autores de física, química, ingeniería, ciencia de materiales y biología. Otro punto a favor del libro, que representa el conocimiento de expertos de más de 20 países, es la combinación de artículos más extensos que presentan los antecedentes de un tema determinado y contribuciones breves que destacan aplicaciones específicas en diferentes áreas de seguridad. |
