Este libro presenta un tratamiento integral y de vanguardia de la adquisición de lenguas indoeuropeas y no indoeuropeas en diversos contextos, como L1, L2, L3/Ln, bi/multilingüe, lenguas heredadas, patología como así como deterioro del lenguaje y adquisición del lenguaje de señas. El libro explora una amplia combinación de metodologías y cuestiones de la investigación contemporánea. El texto presenta investigaciones originales desde varias perspectivas diferentes y proporciona una base para el diálogo entre investigadores que trabajan en diversos proyectos con el objetivo de mejorar nuestra comprensión de cómo se adquieren las lenguas. El libro propone y perfecciona nuevas construcciones teóricas, por ejemplo, considerando la complejidad de las características lingüísticas como un factor relevante en la adquisición de estructuras morfológicas, sintácticas, discursivas, pragmáticas, léxicas y fonológicas por parte de niños, adultos y personas bilingües.
