Este libro comprende estudios que reflexionan sobre diversas influencias del desarrollo turístico excesivo en áreas protegidas y soluciones diseñadas e iniciadas para mitigar dichos desafíos. Una gran proporción del turismo en los destinos mediterráneos constituye turismo basado en la naturaleza, en particular, turismo en parques y áreas protegidas. A medida que un destino experimenta una mayor intensidad y densidad de turismo, también aumenta el conflicto potencial entre el mantenimiento de un entorno natural saludable y el desarrollo económico. Esto ha instado a los planificadores y tomadores de decisiones a idear y adoptar enfoques innovadores que busquen lograr un equilibrio entre el desarrollo turístico y la conservación de la naturaleza. Este libro demuestra la importancia de la colaboración entre disciplinas y más allá y de todos los grupos de partes interesadas para maximizar los impactos sociales y los beneficios relacionados con el turismo. |
