Este volumen explora la ''teoría mimética'' del teórico cultural René Girard y su aplicabilidad al pensamiento y la tradición islámicos. Los autores examinan críticamente la afirmación de Girard sobre la conexión entre la formación de grupos, la religión y la violencia como "chivos expiatorios". Estas ideas, sostuvo Girard, tienen su fuente en la revelación bíblica. ¿Existen paralelos en otras tradiciones religiosas, especialmente en el Islam? Con este fin, los eruditos musulmanes y los estudiosos de la teoría mimética han examinado la hipótesis de una "revolución abrahámica". Ésta es la afirmación de que el judaísmo, el cristianismo y el islam comparten cada uno un ''gran avance'' histórico espiritual y ético: un alejamiento de la violencia como chivo expiatorio y hacia un sentido de justicia para la víctima inocente. |
