Este libro sitúa el teatro de Marina Carr dentro de una genealogÃa femenina que revisa los orÃgenes patriarcales del drama irlandés moderno. La visión creativa de Lady Augusta Gregory sustenta el análisis de la visión dramática de Carr a lo largo del volumen con el fin de resituar a la mujer artista como elemento central del teatro irlandés. Para Carr, "escribir se trata más de las cosas que no puedes entender que de las que sà puedes", y su evocación de "pastos de lo desconocido" constituye la lÃnea temática de esta obra.
