Este volumen presenta desarrollos recientes en la teorÃa y la investigación de la identidad. Las identidades son los pilares básicos de la sociedad y ocupan un lugar central en todas las disciplinas de las ciencias sociales. La teorÃa de la identidad proporciona una conceptualización sistemática de las identidades y su relación con el comportamiento. La investigación de este volumen demuestra la utilidad de esta teorÃa para comprender las identidades en acción en una variedad de áreas y entornos.
