Esta colección de ensayos es un ejercicio de filosofÃa comparada de la religión que explora las diferentes formas en que los humanos expresan lo inexpresable. Reúne a académicos de más de una docena de tradiciones religiosas, literarias y artÃsticas, como parte de la serie de conferencias y diálogos 2013-2015 de The Comparison Project sobre "la religión más allá de las palabras". Los eruditos especializados detallaron primero las gramáticas de la inefabilidad en nueve tradiciones religiosas diferentes, asà como los campos adyacentes de la literatura, la poesÃa, la música y el arte. Luego, los directores del Proyecto de Comparación compararon este conjunto diverso de fenómenos, ofreciendo explicaciones de su patrón y planteando cuestiones filosóficas sobre la verdad y el valor de la inefabilidad religiosa en una perspectiva comparada. Este libro es la publicación inaugural de The Comparison Project, un nuevo enfoque innovador de la filosofÃa de la religión ubicado en la Universidad Drake (Des Moines, Iowa, EE. UU.). El Proyecto de Comparación organiza una serie bienal de conferencias académicas, diálogos entre profesionales y paneles comparativos sobre temas centrales interculturales en la filosofÃa de la religión. Los estudiosos especializados en religión exploran primero este tema en sus religiones de especialización; Luego, los filósofos comparativistas de la religión plantean cuestiones sobre el significado, la verdad y el valor de este tema en una perspectiva comparada.
