El libro analiza el estatus sociocultural-histórico, ocupacional, educativo, laboral y discriminatorio de una de las comunidades más desatendidas y marginadas: las tribus denotificadas o tribus ex-criminales de Telangana y Andhra Pradesh. Sobre la base de datos primarios recopilados de 14 comunidades en 11 distritos de estos estados, analiza la situación actual de las tribus denotificadas. No hay información precisa y completa disponible sobre el estado socioeconómico actual de estas comunidades, ni en la literatura ni en las agencias gubernamentales. Este libro proporciona información valiosa sobre cómo les está yendo en la India posterior a la independencia desde su eliminación de la notificación de la Ley de Tribus Criminales de 1871. |

The book discusses the socio-cultural-historical, occupational, educational, employment and discriminatory status of one of the most neglected and marginalised communities: the de-notified tribes or ex-criminal tribes of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Based on primary data collected from 14 communities in 11 districts in these states, it discusses the current state of affairs concerning de-notified tribes. There is no accurate and comprehensive information available on the present socio-economic status of these communities, either in the literature or with government agencies. This book provides valuable information on how they are faring in post-independence India since their de-notification from the Criminal Tribes Act, 1871. |
