Este libro ofrece nuevas perspectivas sobre cuestiones de justicia alimentaria. Los capítulos son el resultado de una serie de talleres anuales sobre justicia alimentaria celebrados en la Universidad Estatal de Michigan entre 2013 y 2015, que reunieron a una amplia variedad de personas interesadas para aprender y trabajar juntas. La justicia alimentaria puede estudiarse desde perspectivas tan diversas como la filosofía, la antropología, la economía, los estudios de género y sexualidad, la geografía, la historia, la crítica literaria, la filosofía y la sociología, así como las dimensiones humanas de las ciencias agrícolas y ambientales. Como tal, los talleres interdisciplinarios son un vehículo muy necesario para mejorar nuestra comprensión del tema, que está en el centro de un discurso vibrante y creciente no solo entre académicos de una amplia gama de disciplinas, sino también entre los responsables de las políticas y los activistas comunitarios. El libro incluye sus perspectivas, ofreciendo una amplia gama de enfoques y concepciones de la justicia alimentaria en una variedad de contextos. Este trabajo invaluable requiere que los lectores crucen fronteras y estén abiertos a nuevas ideas basadas en diferentes supuestos. |
