Este libro describe una serie de talleres residenciales innovadores en asesoramiento terapéutico en la década de 1960, para personas que trabajaban en disciplinas de salud mental y asistencia social que buscaban expandir y profundizar su alcance. El trabajo es único en el alcance de su investigación sobre el proceso y los resultados de una investigación inmersiva tan activa en esta área. Además de una gran cantidad de caracterÃsticas más sistemáticas, el autor nos invita a las conversaciones iniciales en la sala de reuniones y luego sigue a los miembros del grupo en sus vidas, lo que nos permite ver tanto los resultados tempranos como el impacto de la participación hasta diez años después. Finalmente, Barrett-Lennard reflexiona sobre la extensa historia de los talleres intensivos y el trabajo grupal relacionado en otros contextos a los que condujeron. This book describes a series of ground-breaking residential workshops in therapeutic counselling in the 1960s, for people working in mental health and social care disciplines seeking to expand and deepen their reach.
