El libro es el único volumen técnico que explica cómo se deben implementar los métodos de análisis de equivalencia mencionados en el Anexo II de la Directiva Europea de Responsabilidad Ambiental. Utiliza estudios de casos para ilustrar la aplicación de los métodos en el mundo real, que se basan en la experiencia de los EE. UU. y la Unión Europea y han sido probados en tres años de programas de capacitación financiados por la Comisión Europea. Académicamente riguroso y técnicamente completo, el libro está dirigido a expertos técnicos que deseen evaluar daños y opciones de remediación, asà como a tomadores de decisiones que deseen encargar dichas evaluaciones y juzgar su calidad.
