Este volumen pionero ofrece una amplia introducción al campo relativamente nuevo de los estudios evolutivos en la cultura imaginativa. Contribuyentes de la psicologÃa, la neurociencia, la antropologÃa y las humanidades investigan la imaginación humana evolucionada y sus artefactos. El libro demuestra contundentemente que la imaginación es parte de la naturaleza humana. Los colaboradores exploran la cultura imaginativa en siete áreas principales: Imaginación: evolución, mecanismos y funciones Mito y religión TeorÃa estética Música Artes visuales y plásticas Videojuegos y pelÃculas Narrativas orales y literatura Perspectivas evolutivas sobre la cultura imaginativa amplÃa el alcance de la teorÃa cultural evolutiva para incluir gran parte de qué significa "cultura" en el uso común.
