Aunque el enfoque de SE se utiliza ampliamente para la evaluación de los beneficios del capital natural y la biodiversidad para las personas, este libro tiene un carácter único. Proporciona una evaluación de 18 ES individuales, que se dividen en tres grupos principales: ES de aprovisionamiento, regulatorio/de apoyo y ES cultural. Para cada uno de los ES, se brinda una breve descripción teórica y metodológica, seguida de una evaluación espacial basada en su propia metodología original y un conjunto de datos de 40 capas de mapas. Además, se realiza una evaluación de los principales grupos de ES y una evaluación general de los ES. Este libro enfatiza el papel clave de las áreas de protección de la naturaleza, grandes áreas de ecosistemas forestales y áreas montañosas y submontañas, para la preservación de las diversas funciones del paisaje y los ecosistemas saludables. La complejidad del libro garantiza su utilidad, no sólo como base de conocimientos para el territorio de Eslovaquia, sino también como herramienta metodológica para investigadores de todo el mundo. For each of ES, a brief theoretical and methodological overview is given, followed by spatial assessment based on own original methodology and dataset of 40 map layers. Como es bien sabido, actualmente el planeta está sufriendo un cambio global, y está afectando también al Mar de Alborán, a sus ecosistemas y a sus poblaciones. Un primer paso importante para actualizar una visión fundamental sobre esta región es comprender los ciclos climáticos, geológicos y oceanográficos, incluidos los bioquímicos, procesos que configuran la rica geodiversidad, la biodiversidad, la productividad y el uso sostenible de los recursos marinos del Mar de Alborán. El sistema de gestión pesquera debe tener en cuenta la variabilidad del medio marino para lograr la sostenibilidad biológica de los recursos marinos. Las decisiones de los responsables de políticas bien financiadas requieren un conocimiento científico sólido de la interacción entre el medio marino y las poblaciones comerciales. Esto se debe a que el papel del medio marino en la evolución de las poblaciones de peces es a veces incluso más importante que el que desempeñan los pescadores en su explotación comercial. Finalmente, cabe analizar los diferentes aspectos del contexto político que podrían afectar a la gestión de los recursos del Mar de Alborán en el contexto del cambio climático. Este libro repasa diferentes aspectos del Mar de Alborán para ayudar a comprender la situación actual del Océano Tethis original. It is widely known, that currently the planet is suffering a global change, and it is also affecting the Alboran Sea, its ecosystems and populations. An important first step to update a paramount vision on this region is to understand the climatic, geologic and oceanographic, including biochemical cycles, process which shapes the rich geodiversity, biodiversity, the productivity, and the sustainable use of the marine resources from Alboran Sea. The fisheries management system should take into account marine environmental variability to achieve biological sustainability of marine resources. Well-funded policy-makers' decisions require a sound science based knowledge of the interaction between the marine environment and commercial stocks. This is because the role of marine environment in the evolution of fish stocks is sometimes even more important than the one played by fishers in the commercial exploitation of them. Finally, we should analyze the different aspects of political context that could affect the management of the resources from Alboran Sea in the context of climate change. This book reviews different aspects of the Alboran Sea to help understand the current situation from the original Tethis Ocean.
